Elbit Security a subsidiary of Elbit group (Haifa, Israel), deployed the EVT (Petah-Tikva, Israel) Vertex networked video management and recording software suit to monitor the border areas and crossing points around the city of Jerusalem (Israel). The system was installed by the D.O.G. Ltd. Surveillance Solutions.
"EVT was uniquely positioned to deliver a highly reliable, scalable solution that not only met... multifaceted current needs but was also positioned to support future requirements utilizing existing hardware," said Eli Amar president of D.O.G Ltd.
This is the first defense-related deployment of EVT's Vertex Video management and NVR (network video recorder) software suit. This software is linked to CCTV surveillance tools and perimeter protection systems, allowing optimal monitoring of Jerusalem's many gates from a remote control center.
Using this combination of software and surveillance equipment, many events can be managed in real time. The system's intuitive user interface utilizes several unique features, such as EVT's 2.5D live video maps, which improve site perspective and the operator's navigation capabilities, and image content navigation that allows security operators means to track a moving object within a site with several cameras.
The intuitive operation and advanced features of EVT's Vertex reduce in response time to security incidents. This allows fast and simple event resolution both in real time and post-event analysis and investigations. Fewer operators are required for efficient monitoring with this system, as compared to conventional methods. Staff training is relatively easy and fast. All these factors improve overall surveillance efficiency while reducing operational costs.
"Elbit Security has unmatched knowledge and experience in tailoring solutions for the protection of such challenging environments," said Oren Feldmann, EVT vice president marketing and sales.
