Video analytics from ioimage (Herzliya, Israel) integrated into CCTV platform as an early warning system, provide instant visual verification of alerts at the Porsche car dealership and showroom in Sunninghill Gauteng, a suburb of Johannesburg, South Africa. The subsystem records penetration by intruders along 650 meters of fence line, immune to activation of alerts by spurious, nuisance, or environmental factors. This minimizes irrelevant footage, as well as reducing the number of security officers required to monitor video screens.
"We have extensive experience with intruder detection systems, and ioimage's video analytics has exceeded our expectations," said Sasha Savin, managing director of Goodman Security Technologies (Pty) Ltd., the company that installed the new system, and partners of C3 Shared Services (Pty) Ltd. (Midrand, South Africa). Porsche is planning to install ioimage intelligent video appliances at the Durban and Cape Town sites, as part of a nationwide security-systems upgrade.
"Theft of vehicles and auto parts at high-end car dealerships, such as Porsche, are on the rise worldwide," said Greg Mendeleev, ioimage senior sales director, EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa). "Video analytics provides the most effective solution for protecting valuable inventory and reducing the huge costs associated with damages, loss and escalating insurance premiums."
Ioimage uses edge and centralized DSP (digital signal processing)-based devices for real-time detection, alert, and tracking of intruders, vehicles, and other threats. The same technology used to enhance safety and security for government, public and commercial organizations. This approach to video security transforms surveillance into a proactive, event-driven process.
