Assa Abloy (Stockholm, Sweden), the world's leading manufacturer and supplier of door-opening solutions, acquired Maiman (Springfield, MI, USA), a manufacturer of high-end stile and rail wood doors as well as thermal-fused laminate doors for the commercial, industrial, and institutional markets. As a result, Assa Abloy is expanding its product offerings and creating new business opportunities for the company's door group.
Maiman's product line includes a variety of high-end doors and frames used for commercial and government building applications. The company also offers specialty doors such as acoustically rated doors, bullet-resistant doors, lead-lined doors, and historical reproductions. The company has provided doors and door solutions for the Old Executive Office Building in Washington, DC, the San Francisco Opera House, the Mohegan Sun Casino/Hotel, and other high-profile locations.
"Maiman is an exciting addition to the group with excellent management and a well deserved reputation for quality and innovation. Following our close collaboration..., this acquisition is an important step in our strategy to provide complete door opening solutions," said Assa Abloy's President of the America division door group Larry Denbrock.
