Elbit Systems (Haifa, Israel) introduced Cpnet (Common Picture Network), a new portable and lightweight common operational picture solution, fully integrated as a stand-alone C4I (command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence) system.
Cpnet enables heterogeneous teams that usually have cumbersome and difficult communications to act as a single close-knit unit, avoid operational errors, improving efficiency, and the odds for a successful mission completion. In making the system suitable for a broad range of networking applications, cooperation in times of emergency among diverse entities whose composition cannot always be determined ahead of time--such as assessment teams, law enforcement groups, mobile medical teams, hospitals, border patrol, firefighters, search and rescue teams, disaster response teams, etc.--is greatly facilitated.
In its basic configuration, Cpnet requires no permanent installations or modifications of the platform, as it is portable and ready-to-go. A more robust configuration is available, providing long distance communication cover and an integrated cabin display approach. Cpnet is compatible with a variety of data link protocols and interoperable with a wide spectrum of radios.
Cpnet draws on Elbit Systems' vast experience in military and nonmilitary command and control systems.
