Pelco (Clovis, CA, USA), a longtime Panasonic (Secaucus, NJ, USA) competitor in the video surveillance market, joined the Panasonic Solution Developer Network (PSDN) improving the interoperability of both companies’ video surveillance solutions to serve better the customers’ needs.

Pelco's Digital Sentry video surveillance management system currently supports the Panasonic i-Pro cameras. Under the new partnership with PSDN, Pelco's Endura platform will be used for this purpose. These new systems combining video surveillance cameras with video management are now becoming available.

The PSDN, as part of Panasonic’s worldwide “Open Infrastructure” push, provides its members with development tools, technical data and assistance integrating with Panasonic products. The PSDN initiative enables integrators and resellers to expands their product offerings with more diverse and complete solutions.

"We are committed to an 'Open Infrastructure' and are pleased to work with Pelco and other industry suppliers to meet the demands of end users on a common platform - the IT [information technology] network," said J.M. Allain, president of the Panasonic System Solutions Company.

Pelco's director of integration, Dave deLisser, said, "Delivering open and integrated systems is a cornerstone of Pelco's product development focus," as part of the general company direction.
